AT&T is moving to the Oracle Cloud

Oracle has announced that AT&T, a mutual customer of Eclipse, is moving thousands of its large-scale databases, containing petabytes of data, to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS), as well as their associated applications workloads. The agreement also gives AT&T access to Oracle’s DBaaS and SaaS, as well as Oracle Field Service Cloud (OFSC), which will help to streamline service calls and scheduling for the company’s 70,000 field technicians.

An AT&T spokesperson said that the implementation of OFSC technology will help the technicians to increase productivity, on-time arrivals and job duration accuracy. “We believe that the future of the network is to be data-powered, to be software-centric, and to be fast and responsive,” said John Donovan, chief strategy officer and group president of AT&T Technology and Operations.
